Discography

Kinnykoose has developed a sound over the course of a decade informed by a variety of influences and personal experience. Blending electronic elements with rustic acoustics, their songs draw you into an uncomfortable and honest exploration of mental health, sexuality, substance use and relationships. As an artist, Sproston prefers to face these often harrowing experiences head on although the irony of using an alias is not lost.

Take Control EP

Released over three years, Kinnykoose’s first foray into the solo project consisted of an EP posted to Soundcloud. The three song record included an extra acoustic B-Side on the “TV and Smoke” single.

The songs utilise minimal equipment to create a low fidelity style featuring self made synth sounds and the iconic 808 kick drum from classic hip hop. Kieran explores themes of substance misuse and mental health in relationships throughout these tracks with a raw, unflinching self critique of the part they play.
