Kinnykoose draws from personal experience to create hauntingly beautiful music that often walks the line between comedy and tragedy. Under the alias of their childhood cat, Manchester born artist Kieran Sproston blends genres within their music albeit rarely with a sense of ease; hip hop beats often meet melancholy guitars, however, the main draw is the sense of discomfort emanating from the lyrical content.
Kinnykoose is the unapologetic culmination of Kieran’s musical experience thus far, a solo outfit that allows for the raw and cathartic honesty that they’d be too embarrassed to say to your face.

Kinnykoose often moonlights as a producer for other artists, bringing their signature sound and decade of mixing experience to support independent voices on the Manchester music scene. It’s a client led approach, so Kieran can be as hands on as you need or take a step back and simply capture the sound you ask for.

Blending electronic elements with rustic acoustics, their songs draw you into an uncomfortable and honest exploration of mental health, sexuality, substance use and relationships. As an artist, Sproston prefers to face these often harrowing experiences head on although the irony of using an alias is not lost.
